We’ve been Shortlisted for the RIBA Stephen Lawrence Prize 2024

We are thrilled and honoured to announce that Bluebird has been shortlisted for the prestigious RIBA Stephen Lawrence Prize 2024!

This follows our Stephen Lawrence Prize Shortlisting in 2018 for the White Heather House women’s shelter, and this recognition is especially meaningful to us as it highlights our continued commitment and partnership with HARP in creating high-quality accommodation for some of our society’s most vulnerable individuals. We deeply admire the incredible work HARP do, and we are proud to have worked with them to deliver Bluebird and contribute to their mission.

This reflects the perseverance, talent, and tenacity of Project Architect Danielle Simpson, especially impressive at this early stage in her career.

Congratulations to all the other architects shortlisted! We are delighted to be in such esteemed company with a range of fantastic projects. We look forward to celebrating together.

Success at 2024 RIBA East Awards

We are honoured to have had such a successful evening at the 2024 RIBA East Awards, on 16th May 2024. Our Bluebird project for HARP scooped three awards! RIBA East Award 2024, RIBA East Sustainability Award 2024, and HARP deservedly won RIBA East Client of the Year 2024.

The judges were impressed by ‘the client’s commitment to sustainability on this project, within a modest budget, [which] is to be applauded, as is its determination to deliver high-quality architecture in support of an important social need. Bluebird is an exemplar for the role good architecture can play in transforming lives and demonstrates what can be achieved by an ambitious and far-sighted client working with an equally committed architect.’

Winner of an AJ Award 2023

We won Housing Project (up to £5 million) at the AJ Awards 2023 at the London Hilton Metropole on Wednesday 22nd November 2023.

The judges were immensely moved by this housing scheme. Not only is it unique to its place, built to Passivhaus standards and well-resolved, but ‘it has gone over and above on its social approach,’ they said.
